Name: Magdalene McArthur
Nicknames: Maggie, Mags, Magpie Position: Stargate Psychic Age: 24 Birthday: September 3rd Height: 5'5" Weight: 130 lbs. Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Green Marks: None |
| Appearance |
| Terrifying and beautiful, a weapon with the face of an angel and the mind of a remorseless killer. Maggie has a heart shaped face with intense light green eyes and full lips. Her face is wide and her skin a flawless lightly bronzed tan. Maggie's hair is a brown, in some light sit looks like it has some natural highlights, in others almost black. Her body is curvy with slim arms and an hour glass figure. She doesn't seem very threatening at first, but there's always something a bit off. She tends to dress in clothes that are somewhat provocative because she likes the way they fit, and doesn't really understand the difference between modesty and immodesty. Maggie favors colors like reds and blacks, darker shades of normally pleasant colors. |
| Psychic Ability [Self-Healing] |
|
Expanded Abilities: Maggie's power is limited to healing herself only, but because she is so familiar with her own body, she can heal herself faster than she would if she could help other people. She's tougher to kill, in a sense, and thus a great weapon. She can dampen her nerve cells as well, which means she won't feel the pain as much as others do. Maggie can stitch her own large wounds as long as they are not fatal, the bigger they are, the more time it takes. However, it does take less time than it would a psychic healer to do so.
Limitations: Maggie cannot heal other people, she can only heal herself. So if you're injured, she couldn't do anything to help you. Not that she would. She also is susceptible to fatal injuries. A gunshot to the heart or head would do the trick if you wanted to kill her, but it usually takes people a good while to figure that out. The more pain she's in, the less she can focus. And the more she bleeds the harder it is for her to concentrate on healing. She's not completely invulernable, she can still get hurt as much as anyone else. She just heals faster and can numb her pain. Maggie cannot self-heal when it comes to things like viruses or foreign elements in her body that she needs to get rid of. She can catch the flu-bug just like everyone else. |
| Personality |
|
At first Maggie appears to be something of a functioning adult. She can be charming and persuasive, but there is always something feels a little off. Once one hears 'antisocial personality disorder', they seem to understand why. Maggie lies and manipulates for her own benefit, she hardly takes responsibility for her own mistakes, and often rationalizes everything to make it someone else's fault. She can be aggressive to a point where she acts out violently, and has little to know consideration for the feelings or welfare of others. Maggie is impulsive, her lack of personal space can make others feel uncomfortable, and when one gets to know her further, they see that she is a sadist in addition to as masochist. But that is underlying under a surface of civility.
Strengths: Maggie is trained in weapons, particularly knives, and physically trained as well in combat. Her psychic ability allows her to last longer in a fight and it can take a bit of work to put her down for the count. Maggie is capable of functioning with others, when not on a mission she can even come off pleasant and cheerful. There's something lying underneath the surface, that's for sure, but she can hide it fairly well enough. Weaknesses: She's considered a sociopath. Maggie looks out for herself in the sense of gaining rewards. Otherwise she has little regard for her own safety or that of others. She doesn't have a moral compass, only understands what those above her label as 'no' or 'yes' as far as behavior goes. She lies and will stab a knife in your back if it means she doesn't have to take responsibility for her own mistakes. She's impulsive, and doesn't think so much before she acts. Maggie will probably never be 100% normal, considering she has something labeled as mental illness. Likes: Movies, video games, alcohol, knives, crime shows, and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Dislikes: Rainbows, pacifists, people who think life is a fairytale, most people in general, going to a therapist, sitting still, and band-aids. |
| History |
|
She was born into any normal family, but Maggie's mother often said that Maggie is the way she is because of complications surrounding her birth. Maggie came out of the womb with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, her face blue from suffocating. Since she was a little girl she didn't seem to show any particular interest. Her behavior as a child involved the torture of animals, which her parents only discovered when she was thirteen. While early in the diagnosis, Maggie's therapist labeled her as having conduct disorder with signs of developing into antisocial personality disorder.
Maggie was sent to therapist after therapist, all the while them not knowing that she was already developing a mental ability. At twelve Maggie realized after cutting her wrists she could heal them if she focused on it. It was hard for someone like her to focus on such, but she did what she could without a proper instructor. Random pets would end up missing and come back injured or show up dead. Maggie wet her bed most of her childhood. When she was a freshman in high school she stayed after school late and walked home. On the way home she was stopped by a guy with a knife who tried to rob her and then force himself on her. Maggie came home covered in someone else's blood. Maggie never said what she did, and her parents were too afraid to ask. It was when she went to see a new therapist that Maggie's parents were approached by a group of people who said they could help Maggie at a special program. Her parents were desperate to see Maggie act like 'all the other girls', so they agreed. It turned out this special 'program' was Project Stargate. Upon starting her training with Project Stargate, she began to seek the approval of certain members of staff, particularly the higher ups. With the proper training and regular therapy she has improved her ability greatly. Maggie more recently attached herself to Jacob Pettifer, Stargate's aerokinetic, and he seems to be the only person Maggie's behavior seems completely controlled around. |
